I wonder if and when NYC might experience something like this.
You all know I protested, screamed yelled, tried with Norman Siegel's help to organize a city wide protest at City Hall to tell mayor Bloomberg -- stop the tsunami of community crushing development.....stop the mass displacement, SAFETY FIRST, the people before greedy ruthless developers including Columbia University who abused eminent domain to mass displace the entire neighborhood of Manhattanville, NYU, Cooper Union, NY Law who didn't need to abuse eminent domain because the worst city planner Amanda the peoples Burden did their dirty work - pushed through shady zone busting builds that should never happen.
I am wrote Con Ed and asked them to tell mayor Bloomberg to slow down. Con Ed did not and hired a record number of outside contractors. By the way Con Ed lost workers to death during Bloomberg's reckless tsunami of development which is on going. We had how many scaffolding deaths this year. As soon as he came in to office we had a high number of scaffolding deaths and probably a record number of construction, scaffolding and infrastructure related deaths as well as breaks and the streets and sidewalks -- all our infrastructures shot to hell including the corrupt MTA but that didn't slow the greed monsters down JEOPARDIZING our safety even more.
UNDER BLOOMBERG WE HAVE THE MOST RECKLESSLY built sky piercing buildings and my question is would they hold up in an Earthquake and or Tsunami like Japan experienced.
My guess is no.
I believe DOB put in new rules about how close buildings can be but were they ever enforced?
WE HAD HOW MANY BUILDINGS COLLAPSE?
We had how many deaths from construction related issues which means either
1) DOB inspectors took bribes and are taking bribes
2) DOB did now have the courage to tell the mayor to slow down because they did not have enough people to police all the builds.
It should be noted as usual Mike Bloomberg put pals in high places and he threw out the requirement the head of DOB must have an architectural degree and or engineer degree.
An engineer group has sued Mike and NYC gov twice and lost. I am waiting to hear if they will take Mike and NYC gov to supreme court.
Mike has a lot of judges playing deaf, dumb and blind like Manhattan DA and the judge handling the Haggerty case is doing right now in all of New Yorkers faces.

We cannot allow Christine Quinn to be mayor because that would mean real estate developer community crushing Mike for a 4th term. Quinn sold us out to developers.
